Baker's Game Solitaire
Master the art of same-suit building
About the Game
Baker's Game Solitaire is a sophisticated variation of FreeCell, invented by mathematician C. L. Baker. Unlike traditional FreeCell where you build by alternating colors, Baker's Game requires you to build sequences by the same suit, creating a deeper and more strategic experience.
With all 52 cards face-up from the start, every move is a calculated decision. The challenge lies in managing your four free cells while building same-suit sequences in the tableau.
Game Layout
Tableau
8 columns with 52 face-up cards. First 4 columns have 7 cards, last 4 have 6 cards.
Free Cells
4 open cells that can each hold one card, providing temporary storage for strategic moves.
Foundations
4 piles where you build from Ace to King in ascending order, by suit.

How to Play
Objective
Move all 52 cards to 4 foundation piles by suit from Ace to King in ascending order.
Moving Cards
Move cards between tableau columns by building down in the same suit. Use free cells for temporary storage.
Free Cells
4 open cells that can hold one card each. Use them strategically to free up stuck cards.
Empty Columns
Any card can be placed in an empty tableau column, creating new building opportunities.
Available Moves
Multiple Card Moves
You cannot move groups of cards directly. The number of sequenced cards you can move equals the number of available free cells plus one.
Winning Strategies
Plan Your Moves
Study the entire tableau before making moves. All cards are visible, so plan several moves ahead.
Keep Free Cells Empty
Use free cells sparingly. Keep them available for critical moves that unlock stuck cards.
Create Empty Columns
Try to empty tableau columns early. Empty columns can accept any card, giving you more flexibility.
Don't Rush Foundations
Moving cards to foundations too early might block important sequences. Sometimes it's better to build in the tableau first.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Baker's Game Solitaire?
Baker's Game Solitaire is a challenging variation of FreeCell where cards must be built down in descending order by the same suit. The goal is to move all cards to the foundations from Ace to King.
How is Baker's Game different from FreeCell?
In FreeCell, cards are built in descending order by alternating colors. In Baker's Game, cards must be built by the same suit, making it more difficult and requiring more strategic planning.
How many free cells are available?
Baker's Game uses 4 free cells. Each free cell can hold one card to help you reorganize the tableau and plan your moves strategically.
Can I move multiple cards at once?
You cannot directly move groups of cards. However, you can move cards one at a time using empty free cells. The number of cards you can effectively move equals the number of empty free cells plus one.
What cards can start a foundation pile?
Only an Ace can start a foundation pile. Foundations are built upward in ascending order by suit from Ace to King.
What happens if I run out of moves?
If no moves are available, you can use the Undo feature to backtrack and try a different strategy. Most Baker's Game deals are winnable with optimal play.
